Positive Degree কে Comparative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম
1. No other যুক্ত Positive Degree-কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Comparative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করতে হয় – বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত Subject + verb (Subject-এর number ও person এবং বাক্যের tense অনুযায়ী) + adjective- এর comparative form + than any other + No other - এরপর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ। উদাহরণ:
Pos : No other student in the class is as brilliant as Naomi.
Comp: Naomi is more brilliant than any other student in the class.
ব্যাখ্যা: প্রদত্ত Positive Degree-এর বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত subject হলো 'Naomi, Positive Degree-এর verb হলো 'is' এবং adjective হলো 'brilliant' এ বাক্যটিকে comparative করতে প্রথমে subject (Naomi) বসেছে, তারপর verb (is) বসেছে, এরপর adjective brilliant এর comparative form 'more brilliant বসেছে। তারপর than any other এবং এরপর No other-এর পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ (student in the class) বসেছে।
2. Very few যুক্ত Positive Degree-কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Comparative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করতে হয়। বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত Subject + verb (Subject-এর number ও person এবং বাক্যের tense অনুযায়ী) + adjective-এর comparative form + than most other + very few-এর পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ। উদাহরণ:
Pos: Very few writers in Bangladesh are as famous as Humayun Ahmed.
Comp: Humayun Ahmed is more famous than most other writers in Bangladesh.
ব্যাখ্যা: প্রদত্ত Positive Degree-এর বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত subject হলো 'Humayan Ahmed, Positive Degree এর verb হলো 'are' এবং adjective হলো 'famous'। লক্ষ করি, positive-এর verb হলো 'are' কারণ very few এর পর verb plural হয়। কিন্তু comparative-এর subject অনুসারে verb singular হয়েছে।
3. As..... as যুক্ত Positive Degree-কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Comparative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করা হয় - বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত Subject + (verb) + not + adjective- এর comparative form + than + প্রথম subject. Than এরপর Pronoun থাকলে সেই Pronoun-এর subjective form ব্যবহার করতে হয়। উদাহরণ:
Pos: Rupa is as good as Luna.
Comp: Luna is not better than Rupa.
ব্যাখ্যা: Positive Degree-এর প্রথম subject হলো 'Rupa' এবং শেষের subject না "Luna"। তাই নিয়মানুসারে comparative-এ শেষের subject (Luna) প্রথমে বসেছে, তারপর verb এর পর not, এরপর adjective 'good-এর comparative form better' বসেছে, এরপর than এবং এর পরে প্রথম subject (Rupa) বসেছে। উল্লেখ্য, যদি Positive Degree-টি Negative হতো অর্থাৎ is-এর পর যদি not থাকত, তবে Comparative Degree not বসত না, অর্থাৎ এটি Affirmative হতো।

Positive Degree কে Superlative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম
1. No other যুক্ত Positive Degree-কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Superlative Degree করতে হবে -
বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত Subject + verb + the + adjective এর superlative form + No other এরপর থেকে verb -এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ। উদাহরণ:
Pos: No other man in the village was as wise as he
Sup: He was the wisest man in the village.
ব্যাখ্যা: Positive Degree-টিতে বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত subject হলো 'he, Positive Degree - টির verb হলো was এবং adjective হলো wise । Wise এর superlative form হলো wisest, আর No other এরপর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত রয়েছে "man in the village"

2. Very few যুক্ত Positive Degree কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Superlative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করতে হয় - বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত Subject + verb + one of the + adjective এর superlative form + very few পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ। উদাহরণ:
Pos: Very few countries in the world are as varied as India.
Sup: India is one of the most varied countries in the world.
ব্যাখ্যা: Positive Degree- টির বাক্যের শেষে অবস্থিত subject হলো 'India', Positive Degree- টির verb হলো are এবং adjective হচ্ছে 'varied' যার superlative form হচ্ছে 'most varied, এবং very few এর পর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত রয়েছে countries in the world. লক্ষ করি, Positive Degree-তে very few-রয়েছে যার পর verb plural হয়। কিন্তু superlative-এ verb- singular (is) হয়েছে, কারণ India হলো 3rd person singular number.

Comparative Degree-কে Positive Degree -তে রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম.
1. Than any other/ all other যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Positive Degree- তে রূপান্তর করা যায়।
No other + than any other/all other এরপরের অংশ + verb + as + adjective- এর positive form + as + প্রদত্ত sentence - এর subject. উদাহরণ:
Comp: Russia is larger than any other country in the world.
Pos : No other country in the world is as large as Russia.
ব্যাখ্যা: Comparative Degree-এর subject হলো 'Russia'. verb হলো is এবং adjective হলো larger. larger এর positive form হচ্ছে large. তাই নিয়মানুসারে Positive Degree-তে প্রথমে No other এর পর than any other- এরপরের অংশ (country in the world), এরপর verb (is) বসেছে, এরপর as + adjective-এর positive form (large) + as এবং শেষে subject (Russia) বসেছে।
Note: No other এরপরে সাধারণত singular subject & singular verb হয়।

2. Than most other যুক্ত Comparative Degree- কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Positive Degree-তে রূপান্তর করা যায় -
Very few + than most other এর পরের অংশ + verb + as + adjective-এর positive form + as + প্রদত্ত sentence- এর subject । উদাহরণ:
Comp: He is better than most other boys in the class.
Pos : Very few boys in the class are as good as he.
ব্যাখ্যা : প্রদত্ত Comparative Degree- তে than most other আছে, তাই Positive Degree- টি very few দ্বারা শুরু হয়েছে। লক্ষ করি, Comparative Degree- তে verb হচ্ছে is, কিন্তু positive- এ verb- টি 'are' হয়েছে। কারণ আমরা জানি, very few-এর পর verb-টি plural হয়। Comparative Degree-টির adjective হলো 'better', যার positive form হচ্ছে 'good"।
3. শুধু 'than' যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Positive Degree-তে রূপান্তর করা যায় – than এর পরের অংশ + verb + not (প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি যদি affirmative বা হ্যাঁ-বোধক হয়, তবেই not বসবে; কিন্তু প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি না-বোধক হলে not বসবে না) + as + adjective-টির positive form + as + প্রদত্ত sentence এর প্রথম subject. উদাহরণ:
Comp: He is more intelligent than you.
Pos: You are not as intelligent as he
Comp: I am not taller than he.
Pos :He is as tall as I / I am as tall as he
ব্যাখ্যা: i) comparative বাক্যটি হ্যাঁ বোধক তাই- positive বাক্যটিতে not বসেছে। কিন্তু ii) নং এর - comparative বাক্যটি 'না-বোধক' হওয়ার ফলে positive বাক্যটিতে not বসেনি।
4. No less/not less..... than যুক্ত Comparative degree- কে Positive degree- তে রূপান্তরের নিয়ম: No less বা not less-এর পরিবর্তে উক্ত জায়গায় as বসে এবং than-এর পরিবর্তে উক্ত জায়গায় as বসে। এছাড়া প্রদত্তর sentences-এর আর কোনো পরিবর্তন হয় না। তবে শুধু less. ... than থাকলে not so .... as হয় ।
উদাহরণ:
Com: Noor is no less foolish than you.
Pos : Noor is as foolish as you.
Com: Noor is less foolish than you
Pos: Noor is not so foolish as you.

Comparative Degree কে Superlative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম
1. "Than any other' যুক্ত Comparative Degree-কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Superlative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করা হয়: Subject + verb + the + adjective- এর superlative form + than any other- এর পরের অংশ। other এর পরে plural noun থাকলে superlative-এর পরে of all বসে। উদাহরণ:
Comp: Dhaka is larger than any other city in Bangladesh.
Sup: Dhaka is the largest city in Bangladesh.
ব্যাখ্যা: প্রদত্ত বাক্যটিতে subject হলো Dhaka, verb হলো is এবং adject হলো larger. যার super from হচ্ছে largest যেহেতু Comparative বাক্যটিতে than any other রয়েছে, তাই নিয়মানুসারে প্রথম Subject (Dhaka) verb (is) বসেছে + the বসেছে + adjective larger এর superlative form (largest) বসেছে + than any other-এর পরের অংশ (city in Bangladesh) বসেছে ।
2. "Than most other" যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Superlative Degree- তে রূপান্তর করা যায়।
Subject + verb + one of the + adjective- এর superlative form + than most other এর পরের অংশ। উদাহরণ:
Comp: Rumu is more beautiful than most other girls in the room.
Sup : Rumu is one of the most beautiful girls in the room.

Sup: Rahman is the tallest boy in the village.
Pos: No other boy in the village is as tall as Rahman.

2. One of the যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে নিম্নোক্তভাবে Comparative-এ রূপান্তর করা যায় - প্রদত্ত subject ও verb + adjective- এর comparative form + than most other + adjective পরের অংশ। উদাহরণ:
Sup : Proma is one of the most talkative girls in the class.
Comp: Proma is more talkative than most other girls in the class.
